SEB successfully and effectively manages development teams and steers them through the planning, permitting and development phases through to occupancy. SEB has extensive knowledge of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Permit Law, M.G.L. Chapter 40B, which has been used to create about 50,000 housing units over the past 40 years. SEB has assisted in the financial packaging and/or permitting of over 100 mixed-finance developments under Chapter 40B, totaling over 8500 units. In connection with these projects, SEB has prepared or reviewed development pro formas, negotiated with local officials, neighbors and developers and successfully leveraged local, state and federal subsidies using almost every available affordable housing financing source.
Our work has involved a broad range of housing types in a number of different communities, including HOPE VI developments, co-housing communities, large subdivisions and small condominium developments. All of our work involves some type of affordable housing for various demographic groups.
